The colors in the trees here are awesome. There is yellow to bright golds, oranges in every shade you can think of, reds from orange red to brick red to burgundy, and of course there is some greens. It is so different from what Iowa was when we left. Leaves are dropping like snowflakes. (I had to come up with something to compare it to. :) ) Every time we go somewhere we have to clean the windshield off and clean the leaves away from the wiper blades. It has rained so much the leaves stick to everything.
Monday there was a knock on the door and when Vern answered it, there was an Amish boy there. His Mother and 2 sisters were in the buckboard waiting for him. There were selling fresh produce, brown eggs and whoopee pies. They had pumpkin whoopee pies and chocolate whoopee pies. I liked the chocolate ones best and Vern liked the pumpkin ones. If she, or some other Amish come back I hope they have home made bread and jams.
Tomorrow we are going to Shady Maple Buffet for breakfast to celebrate our anniversary. Can you guess how many years? This buffet is like nothing we have ever seen before. It has between 300 and 400 feet of food, you can also make to order omelet's and pancakes. Last time we were here for breakfast they had chocolate chip pancakes. They were so big I couldn't eat it all. After we eat we're going to shop at Goods. It's like the old Ben Franklin stores. You can find any thing you want here.
More to come later.
