LABOR DAY

We made it through our busiest day of the year -- Labor Day! It is the one day of the season we hold all the campers out front. Those on reserved sites and non-reserved sites. It can be a very crazy day. Andy, the park manager, started his day at 5 a.m. The first camper came in at 5:30 a.m. Vern and I cleaned the shower house and then went out front to help Andy. We drive through the campground and let him know which camp sites open up. This year we only had 5 in line waiting for non-reserve sites. The bad thing was it was a nice day and no one was in a hurry to leave. It was abut 12:30 before we had everyone in. Monday afternoon and all the electric sites were full. Not supposed to be this way. Mondays are supposed to be our quiet day. The one good thing is that the campers are here for the Super National races and are in the campground only to sleep. Tell you more about our week later. After we were done getting the old campers out and the new in, we cleaned the shower house again then headed for the motor home. We had a snack and I took a nap. After my nap we showered and went out for a early supper. We went to Ames to Wallaby's. This was the first time we had been there since we got back to Iowa. There was only one other couple there, so it was so nice and quiet. A great way to end the day.
